Full Returns Policy
In the UK, your rights for returning a product purchased online are protected under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. These regulations provide consumers with specific rights and protections when buying goods and services online. Here's an overview of your key rights:
Right to Cancel
14-Day Cooling-Off Period: You have the right to cancel your order within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods. This is known as the "cooling-off period." During this time, you can change your mind for any reason and return the product for a full refund.
Notification: You must inform the seller of your decision to cancel within the 14-day period. This can usually be done via email or through a form provided by the retailer.
Returns and Refunds
Return Period: After notifying the seller of your intention to return the goods, you have 14 days to send them back.
Condition of Goods: You are allowed to inspect the goods as you would in a physical store, but if the value of the goods is diminished as a result of handling beyond what is necessary, the retailer may reduce your refund.
Refund Process: The retailer must issue a refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or receiving proof that they have been sent back. Refunds should include the standard delivery cost, but not any additional costs for express or non-standard delivery.
Return Costs: Unless damaged or faulty, you are responsible for the cost of a return.
Additional Protections
Faulty Goods: If the item is faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose, you have the right to a refund, repair, or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This right is separate from the right to cancel and applies regardless of the 14-day cooling-off period.
Distance Selling Regulations: The Consumer Contracts Regulations replaced the Distance Selling Regulations but retained many of the same protections for online shoppers, focusing on transparency and the right to cancel.
